Research and Development (R&D) has been proved to be crucial factor
moving the world technological frontiers, while at the same time facilitating new
technological and scientific innovations. Investing in research by state and private
institutions and industrial enterprises, as well as applications of advanced
technology in the various sections of the economy, has been proved to play a
significant role in the economic growth and prosperity of a country. R&D comprise of
creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of
knowledge in various fields of science and technology and advance education,
learning and expertise in the country‘s manpower. In the last decades international
knowledge, in natural sciences, social and economic fields, flows continuously and
studies showed that is a major factor in world economic growth. Universities are an
increasingly important component of the scientific innovation and technological
advances in many sectors of the economy and production.
Many studies in the last decade investigated the drives of R&D intensity (% yearly increases for long periods) in developed countries, especially the OECD countries which are among the most industrialized and entrepreneurial in scientific innovations and technological discoveries. A study investigated (2007) the potential determinants of business-sector R&D intensity expenditures (in OECD countries for the period of 1975–2002). Estimates showed a high degree of tax incentives for R&D have a significant and positive impact on business R&D spending regardless of the specification. Also, the study observed that universities‘ expenditure for R&D are significantly positively related to business enterprise sector expenditures on R&D, indicating that public sector R&D and private R&D are complementary. Direct R&D subsidies and the high-tech export share are significantly positively related to business-sector R&D intensity.
Araştırma ve Geliştirme Merkezi run by Prof Dr. AAAAAAAAAAA, the "iesu" Research & Development and Project Consultation Center serves under the "iesu" Rectorate. This center coordinates academic and scientific studies as well as university-industry cooperation. All "iesu" instructors contribute to the studies of the center, which turns knowledge accumulation in our university into practice with laboratory services and application and consultation projects. The financial added value that is created as a result of these studies go into supporting academic and scientific projects and studies.
We aim to develop intelligent service robots that operate in
standard human environments, automating common tasks. To
date, the research community has focused primarily on selfcontained, stand-alone robots that would act autonomously in unmodified environments. The goal is to enable a robot to do, like
humans and other animals do, all sensing, deliberation, and action
selection on board. We advocate an alternative path to competent
robotic agency, known as ubiquitous robotics, that combines intelligent perception and control with ubiquitous computing.
